Information You Submit
Search Terms
When a visitor types a name, location, or similar detail into a third-party search tool, that entry is sent to the outside provider operating the tool. Lake County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If someone sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read, route, and answer it. It is not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is legally required.
Technical Data Collected During Visits
Like most websites, the site may receive routine technical information when pages load.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how people use the site and to support advertising or analytics. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features may work differently after they are blocked.
How the Data Is Used
- To keep pages available, usable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the correct partner service when a partner tool is used.
- To understand which Lake County pages visitors use most.
- To diagnose errors, broken links, or other technical problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on general interests.
Outside Websites and Tools
The site links to Lake County jail roster files, Sheriff's Office pages, court portals, ODRC, federal locators, VINELink, and private search tools. After a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy of the destination site controls that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and show targeted ads. That tracking is controlled by the advertising partner, not by Lake County Inmate Population.

- Search partners that receive queries entered into their tools.

- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid subpoena, warrant, court order, or similar legal process requires it.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used for the systems under this site's control, but no website or internet-connected service can be guaranteed against every unauthorized access, outage, or data loss.
